Why we built BeforeJob
Choosing where to work is one of the biggest decisions most of us make. Yet the information we rely on is thin. Job descriptions promise a great culture. Friends of friends know one team. Review sites let anyone post anything, so a page can fill up with reviews from people who never worked there, or with glowing ones that the company asked for.
The people who know the truth, current and former employees, are often the ones least able to speak. They worry about being identified, about their next appraisal, or about a reference check. So the most useful information stays in private chats.
BeforeJob fixes both problems at once. We check that every contributor really worked at the company, and we design everything around keeping them anonymous, so they can be honest without fear.
Three things we do differently
Verified
Every review, salary, layoff and appraisal report comes from someone who proved they worked there, with a work email, EPF passbook, payslip or offer letter. The badge on each one says how.
Anonymous by design
Your identity and your contributions live in separate records. Contributions go live after a random delay, show only a month and year, and small groups are never broken out.
No pay-to-play
Employers cannot pay to remove, hide or reorder anything, or to change a rating. Our plans sell tools such as analytics and job posts, never outcomes.

How BeforeJob makes money
BeforeJob is free for employees and job seekers. Anyone can read the first few contributions on every list. Share one contribution of your own and everything unlocks for a year. That exchange is what keeps the information fresh.
We earn money from employers who pay for tools: analytics on their own reviews, benchmarks against similar companies, anonymous surveys and job posts. Those plans never change what employees say, where it appears or how ratings are calculated. We do not sell personal data, and we do not run advertising.
